John D. Knippers, M.D.
John D. Knippers was born in Boise, Idaho, and raised in Portland, Oregon. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and then graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Knippers practices comprehensive medical and surgical ophthalmology, including cataract and eyelid and glaucoma surgery.
After completing his internship at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he finished his ophthalmology residency program at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he served as Chief Resident his final year.
Dr. Knippers has presented research on ocular trauma on many occasions at national meetings. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Knippers resides in Pinetop with his wife and four children. Besides enjoying time with his family, he likes outdoor activities, including skiing and hiking.
