Aasim Kamal, M.D.
Dr. Aasim Kamal is a double fellowship trained refractive surgery specialist and has performed over 25,000 refractive surgeries. He is certified on many Lasers and Keratomes, including Intralase. He is certified to do Conductive Keratoplasty (CK). He also does cataracts and other ophthalmic procedures.
After completing medical school with honors, Dr. Kamal did ten years of post-graduate training which includes an internship, two residencies, Neurology and Ophthalmology, and three fellowships (one in Neuro-Ophthalmology and two in Refractive Surgery). He was Chief Resident in both his residency programs. His highly specialized training has included personal instruction from world renowned Ophthalmology pioneers.
Dr. Kamal has also been involved in research and has authored many articles. He is a member of mulitple prestigious ophthalmology societies.
A quiet, soft-spoken person with a gentle sense of humor, Dr. Kamal loves to read. Most of his reading is dedicated to medical journals because he believes that education never ceases and he must keep abreast of changes in medicine. Dr. Kamal spends his free time with his wife, Humaira, and two daughters, and confesses to a fondness for science fiction books and movies.
