Southwestern Eye Center is pleased to provide the advanced science of the Autonomous LADARVision® Excimer Laser to our patients. This laser utilizes high fidelity radar tracking and spot scanning technology that enhances the effectiveness of LASIK surgery. The LADARVision® Excimer Laser System is designed to follow, or track, your eye movements during surgery, assuring a more accurate placement of the laser beam and a very precise shaping of the cornea. Astigmatic patients especially benefit from the tracking systems ability to align the treatment zone with the axis of the astigmatism, providing a precision not as easily available with other lasers.
The expansion of the treatment zone available with the LADARVision® Excimer Laser reduces the likelihood that patients with large pupils will experience night vision problems, a common concern among this group. Additionally, the patented shaping algorithms and non-sequentially targeted laser pulses allow for a smoother ablation (shaping of the cornea), precise refractive outcomes and a rapid recovery.
