The eyes are a part of the central nervous system and are often a window to the health or illness of the human body. Our optometrists and ophthalmologists are prepared to examine, diagnose and treat medical eye conditions and recognize important clues to other, sometimes serious, health disorders requiring medical attention. Southwestern Eye Center has taken a unique team approach to eye care, providing patients with the expertise of two different eye care professionals, the ophthalmologist and the optometrist.
The ophthalmologist is a medical doctor with specialty training in diseases and surgery of the eye and its associated structures. Doctors of Optometry examine, diagnose, and may treat and manage diseases and disorders of the eye. Our ophthalmologist and optometrists, along with specially trained nurses, technicians, and opticians work together as a team to provide the highest quality and most comprehensive eye care available. In addition, our physicians will work closely with your referring doctor to provide the finest in personal care.
Southwestern Eye Center has many qualified optometrists to provide periodic eye examinations and manage diseases of the eye.
