Hi, my name is James, I'm 41 and for the last 34 years I have had to wear glasses. In March of 2006 I decided enough was enough and that it was time to have LASIK surgery. Going into surgery on April 7, 2006, my sight in both eyes was 20/400, being nearsighted and having astigmatism in both eyes. Now that my eyes have healed, I have perfect 20/20 vision in both eyes.
The care from the staff before, during and after the surgery has been excellent and I have recommended Southwestern Eye Center to several people as "The Place to Go for LASIK Surgery". In closing, if you have been thinking about having LASIK surgery, all I can say is..."GO FOR IT! It has been the best money I have ever spent!!!"

I am a college student and with all the studying and reading I was having to do for hours on end, my contacts would dry out and leave my eyes feeling very irritated and tired. Since having LASIK, my eyes feel so much better and it makes school and studying much easier for me. It's also great to be able to jump in the pool anytime without having to worry about my contacts!! I am very happy with the results of my LASIK. My vision is excellent and I am glad I didn't wait any longer.

I chose the Monovision option, (correcting one eye for distance the other for near) and am very grateful I did! For the first time in twenty years, I can see beautiful landscapes and fully enjoy skiing, scuba diving, and other sports without needing glasses or contacts! It is a life changing experience, and I would have done LASIK surgery even if it meant having to use reading glasses. However, with Monovision, I can also read and see close without glasses. My wife, who can see far, but struggles sometimes to read, is now asking me about Monovision. The Southwestern Eye Center staff was wonderful and very patient with my various request to try all the different options.

The question that always comes up is based on the level of "pain"! What impressed me the most about Southwestern Eye Center's doctors and nurses was the way that you are walked through the entire process. Every step is described as to what to expect therefore eliminating any surprises. There was no pain and when anything unusual was going to occur I knew what to expect. Any discomfort was minimized by having every step described. I would do it again for 3 times the expense as it has improved the quality of my life by 10 times.
