FINISHES & MATERIALS
Glass Lenses:
Glass lenses are still preferred by some patients. However, glass is becoming more difficult to obtain and has a number of disadvantages such as weight, size, ease of breakage and a smaller frame selection.
Plastic Lenses:
Plastic lenses are the most common choice in glass today. They are lighter, more scratch resistant, less apt to break and have a greater frame selection.
Polycarbonate Lenses:
Polycarbonate lens is our product of choice for children and active adults because it is the most shatter resistant lens material available. It is also a must for anyone dependent on one good eye for their vision.
High Index Lenses:
High index refers to materials that are even thinner and lighter than standard plastic lenses. They combine excellent vision quality and provide the finest, lightest weight, and most comfortable lenses available.
Aspheric Lenses:
Superior Vision and Appearance:
The shape of the curve on the front surface of the lens, in combination with the back curves of the lens produce superior vision quality when compared to the standard lenses.
Cosmetic Advantages: Much of the aspheric lens popularity is because they also improve the appearance of the eyes. The lenses are flatter and produce a noticeable decrease in the effect of the eye enlargement and magnification caused by the other lenses.
Edge Polish:
Polishing the edges of your lenses creates a fine finished appearance to your glasses. It also creates a thinner more appealing look to the finished product.
TINTS & COATING
Anti-Reflective Coating:
Reduces eye fatigue and improves vision for night driving. Anti-reflective coating is a wonderful option for those who have trouble driving at night due to reflective glare from their glasses. By applying an anti-reflective coating to the lens approximately 99% of the light is focused and only 1% is reflected. You can find anti-reflective coating on many optical devices that require high resolution. Look at the better camera lenses, binoculars, camcorders and sunglasses, the purple or green sheen you see on the lens is the anti-reflective coating.
Scratch Resistant Coating:
Scratch resistant coating is a must for plastic lenses. Remember that no lens material is scratch proof. Adding this option will increase the durability of your lens.

UV coating is important for people of all ages to protect the health of your eyes. UV light exposure has been linked to cataract formation, macular degeneration, and other ocular diseases. It is important to protect yourself from harmful UV radiation. A coating may be applied that protects against UV light. This coating is clear and will not change the appearance of your glasses.
