Phoenix Radiesse / Dermal Fillers – Southwestern Eye Center
Serving Radiesse Patients in throughout AZ including Mesa, Phoenix, Tempe and Scottsdale, AZ
Radiesse is a dermal filler used to reduce the appearance of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Once injected Radiesse derma filler immediately adds fullness to your face giving you a visible result at the first treatment session. It is injected in small amounts into the skin using a very fine needle. Patients may experience minimal discomfort from injections. Depending upon the extent of treatment, the procedure can take up to 20 minutes. Most of our Tempe, Mesa, Scottsdale and Phoenix Radiesse patients feel comfortable going back to their normal activities immediately after treatment.
Radiesse is useful for the following corrective applications:
- Nasolabial Fold Correction
- Marionette Line Correction
- Nasal Defect Correction
- Chin ntouring by Volume Augmentation
- Jaw line Contouring by Voland Cheek Coume Augmentation
- Facial Fat Atrophy Correction by Volume Augmentation
Radiesse is made of very small biocompatible smooth calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres, which are suspended in a water-based gel carrier. Calcium and phosphate ions, naturally occurring in our bodies, primarily make up the calcium hydroxyl apatite particles. Over time the patients own soft tissue replaces the gel carrier. The newly formed collagen matrix provides the desired long-term filler effect.
Radiesse can be used in complementary fashion with other dermal fillers and Botox. After injection, there will be some swelling, and some patients will bruise. Camouflage products can help to conceal bruising. Ice, elevation, and mild anti-inflammatory medication like Tylenol are recommended. Results typically last 9–24 months depending on site of injection, depth of placement, and individual patient's metabolism. In some instances, patients will notice temporarily diminished results a few months after the treatment, before the body begins to respond with its own collagen generation. Longer lasting results may be obtained with subsequent injections in some areas.
Major complications are rare. A rare complication might be the appearance of nodules which would require steroid treatment or surgical removal. The specific risks and the suitability of a particular procedure are carefully reviewed at your consultation.
