Clinical Expertise
Dr. Joseph Donaldson is a board-certified ophthalmologist who manages and treats patients with a variety of ocular conditions, including the use of advanced laser procedures such as YAG laser capsulotomy, macular edema photocoagulation (MAP), laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI), selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT), and panretinal photocoagulation (PRP). He also performs pterygium surgery, providing comprehensive care for both medical and surgical eye conditions.
Education and Medical Training
A native of Utah, Dr. Donaldson received his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, where he studied English literature and Japanese. He then earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville in Kentucky. After finishing an internship at Ochsner Hospital in Louisiana, he completed the LSU/Ochsner Ophthalmology Residency Program.

During his training, Dr. Donaldson received special recognition for his teaching and outstanding patient care. Dr. Donaldson is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Personal Interests
Dr. Donaldson and his wife, Nicole, enjoy living in Arizona with their six children. His hobbies include reading and athletics.
