Dr. James Hooper practices full-scope optometry and is an expert in ocular disease management, pre- and post-surgical care, contact lenses, and comprehensive eye care, including pediatric optometry.

Education and Medical Training

Dr. Hooper was born and raised near Safford, Arizona. He attended Eastern Arizona College and Arizona State University, where he majored in chemistry. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. His externship training included rotations at Hu Hu Kam Memorial Hospital, Phoenix Indian Medical Center, Hellerstein and Brenner Vision Center, and Northern Navajo Medical Center.

Accolades

Dr. Hooper has been practicing in Sierra Vista since 2007. He is licensed by the Arizona State Board of Optometry and is certified to prescribe topical and oral medications for a wide range of eye diseases.

Personal Interests

Outside of his practice, Dr. Hooper enjoys spending time with his wife, Megan, and their children. His hobbies include hiking, camping, fishing, and watching sports.
