Jennifer Murray, O.D.

Clinical Expertise

Dr. Jennifer Murray is a primary care optometrist providing full-scope eye care with an emphasis on the treatment and management of ocular disease, pre- and post-surgical care, pediatric vision care, and comprehensive exams for eyeglasses and contact lenses. Her broad clinical background allows her to serve patients of all ages with a focus on long-term visual health.

Education and Medical Training

Dr. Murray earned dual bachelor’s degrees in biology and psychology from the University of New Mexico and completed her Doctor of Optometry degree with honors at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. Her externship training included working with an ocular surgeon at the Mayo Health System in Minnesota, a refractive surgeon at Teplick Custom Vision in Oregon, and the Fort Washakie Indian Health Clinic in Wyoming. She has over four years of private practice experience, three years at a rural Indian Health Clinic on the Navajo reservation, and over ten years with American Vision Partners.

Accolades

Dr. Murray is licensed in New Mexico and certified in the use of topical and oral medications for ocular conditions. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the New Mexico Optometric Association, and the optometric honor fraternity Beta Sigma Kappa. Additionally, she has volunteered on VOSH mission trips to Mexico and Honduras, providing free eye care to underserved communities.

Personal Interests

Dr. Murray was born and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She is married to fellow optometrist Dr. Brian Petracca, and together they have two daughters. She enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and spending time with family and friends.
