Patrizia Colmenares, O.D.

Dr. Colmenares grew up in Northern Virginia and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She then attended Midwestern University College of Optometry where she was a member of the Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity and the Lions Club. She completed externships at the Memphis VA Hospital, Cool Springs Eyecare in Franklin, Tennessee and Bowden Eye Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Colmenares completed an ocular disease residency at Virginia Eye Consultants where she managed complex urgent and emergent cases as well as pre- and post-operative care. She is passionate about the treatment and management of dry eye disease, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy.

She is licensed by the Arizona State Board of Optometry and certified in the use of topical and oral therapeutic medications as related to the care of the eye. Dr. Colmenares is a member of the American Optometric Association, Arizona Optometric Association, and Virginia Optometric Association.

In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and exploring new restaurants with her fiancé Luke and their Golden Retriever, Scooby.
