What is LASIK Eye Surgery?
LASIK (Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis) is a vision correction procedure that reshapes the cornea—the clear front surface of the eye—to improve how light focuses on the retina.
LASIK is commonly used to treat:
- Nearsightedness (myopia) – difficulty seeing objects at a distance
- Farsightedness (hyperopia) – difficulty seeing objects up close
- Astigmatism – blurred or distorted vision caused by an irregular corneal shape
